How to Achieve the Perfect White Kitchen with EKB

A white kitchen could be the best decision you will ever make. It is an ideal choice for both a small or a large open plan kitchen. White is excellent at opening up a small space, making it feel larger and brighter.

Here at Essex Kitchen & Bedrooms, a kitchen showroom in Essex, our team have over 30 years’ experience in designing bespoke kitchens in Essex and have listed some advice on how to achieve the perfect white kitchen.

MODERN WHITE KITCHEN

The key to this sleek, modern style kitchen is to keep everything uncluttered and free of adornment. Handle-less doors in gloss or matt provide a blank backdrop for introducing other textures, such as wood; exposed brickwork and tiles. Vintage accessories work well and provide contrast against a sleek, modern finish. Choose a stone or marble worktop that has a vein running through it for a look that is totally bang-on-trend and an interesting focal point.

SHAKER WHITE KITCHEN

Nothing will stand the test of time quite like an all-white shaker kitchen. There is no wonder why it appeals to a wide range of people. It is beautifully versatile and lends itself to many different looks, by simply adding in an accent colour you can create many different styles. If you love the clean lines of a Scandinavian interior, simply add pale blue and navy in your décor. Wood worktops and flooring add warmth and depth without taking away the simplicity of the cabinetry.

TWO TONE KITCHEN

If a totally white kitchen doesn’t appeal to you, try combining different colours within a two-tone design. It is best to use the darker shade on the base units and the lighter shade on the wall units. This is a look that suits both modern and traditional kitchens. Subtle colour contrasts will give your kitchen an elegant feel whereas bolder colour contrast will have a high impact and give a ‘wow’ factor. A kitchen island works well in the contrasting colour, as it is the central focal point of the kitchen. However, if your kitchen is not large enough to have an island, make a feature of your tall units by choosing a darker shade. This look suits both modern and traditional kitchens.
