Christmas Decorations For Your Kitchen That Will Cheer Up The Cook

HERE AT ESSEX KITCHENS & BEDROOMS WE LOVE DECORATING OUR KITCHENS AT CHRISTMAS.

It adds a lovely atmosphere to your home, as we know everyone gathers in the kitchen during the festive time; it’s a time for family, friends and scrumptious food.

Don’t think you have to stick to traditional colours especially if you have modern coloured cabinets. Instead, choose contrasting baubles that will compliment your cabinets and walls. The cabinet knobs make the perfect hanging spot for small decorations such as hearts and baubles; while cornices and pelmets look beautiful adorned with holly and spruce.

For that extra magic touch in your Essex Kitchens, fairy lights strewn over open shelving and cabinets add an instant Christmas feel and are perfect for giving a cosy feel in the evening.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO SPEND A FORTUNE ON DECORATIONS.

Dried fruits such as oranges and lemons make the perfect decorations, and they are extremely easy to make. Children especially enjoy making these garlands. Simply cut up fruit in thin slices place on a lined baking tray and pop in the oven on the lowest temperature for 2 hours, turn over then return to the oven for another 2 hours. When they are finished, string them using Christmas ribbon and place around your Essex kitchen design.

If you want to add a metallic touch, try gold leafing fruit like pears with edible gold leaf. Place in a glass bowl or use as place settings by tying a name tag to the stem, your guests will love this personal touch.

Wreaths can be hung on internal doors as well as external.

Rustic wreaths made up of holly, ivy and twigs are easy to make and are not expensive. If you are dinning around your table then decorate extravagantly with freshly picked laurel leaves and place tea lights amongst the foliage.

Top tip – Twigs sprayed silver, gold or white adorned with baubles make a stunning centre piece for your table.

You can always find a Christmas tree that will fit in any size kitchen decorated with twinkly fairy lights to fill your kitchen with Christmas cheer. Whether it’s a small potted tree sitting on your worktop or a full-size tree placed in a corner; your kitchen will be infused with the scent of the season. If you don’t fancy having a tree in your kitchen then try decorating shelves or oven mantles with natural foliage; we love ivy wrapped around twigs and tied with ribbon!

Glass jars of various sizes and shapes placed around your kitchen filled with seasonal treats; or cranberries add and an instant flash of colour and are extremely inexpensive. Tie some rustic string or pretty ribbon around the neck of the jars and group together, place small votive candles inside the jars and use as a table decoration. Alternatively, fill larger jars with battery operated T- lights and place around your kitchens.

However you decide to decorate your home this Christmas; try not to neglect your kitchen, after all, this is the area you will be spending most of your time. These are just a few of the ideas that our Kitchen designers Essex have thought of to ensure your kitchen is full of the festive cheer.

From all the team at Essex Kitchens & Bedrooms, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
