THE DESIGN PROCESS

Essex Kitchens & Bedrooms – thirty years as interior design specialists

As a family-run business, we believe in taking the personal approach, making sure that all of  our customers’ individual requirements are me. At Essex Kitchens and Bedrooms we are excited by new spaces and their possibilities. We understand that choosing a new kitchen can be quite daunting with so many decisions to make; that’s why we aim to make your experience as stress free and enjoyable as possible. We are with you every step of the way from design to installation and after care sales.

Here’s a step by step guide to the design process at Essex Kitchens & Bedrooms:

Our projects normally start with a visit to our showroom where you will receive a warm welcome in a relaxed and friendly environment. You will be shown our full range of kitchens including worktops, flooring and appliances. You can also see the quality of our cabinets, touch and feel the different finishes and inspect the finer details such as hinges and drawers and different storage solutions. It’s important to us that you are confident in the quality of the products you’re choosing, and if you require a helping hand when it comes to selecting colours, flooring, worktops and tiles, our in-house interior designer will help you to explore all your available options.

During the home visit, our designer will take accurate measurements of your existing space. He will discuss how you want your new kitchen to work for you and your family, to create your unique kitchen design, taking into consideration natural lighting, seating, working areas, electrics and plumbing. Whatever size and shape you have, we will create the perfect design that is both stylish and practical.

After your home visit, you will be invited back to the showroom where we will present you with a 3D colour design. This gives you the opportunity to view your new kitchen design on our big screen TV. We will take on board your feedback and amend your design as many times as is necessary until you are completely happy with it. Once you have agreed the design, you will receive a detailed quotation. Please note that if you require plans to take away with you at this stage, there is a chargeable design fee which is totally redeemable against the cost of your kitchen.

Once you have approved the design and quotation, a sales contract outlining our terms and conditions will be drawn up for you to check over and sign. A 25% deposit, which is covered by our deposit-backed guarantee, will be required to confirm your order and your project will be added to our installation schedule. You are now on your way to the brand-new kitchen of your dreams. If you require storage boxes to keep all your kitchenware safe and clean during installation, we will provide you with sturdy, clear containers. Temporary cooking and refrigeration facilities are available on request.

Now the exciting part, your new kitchen along with accessories and appliances will be delivered. Our fitters check through everything before installing, and because of the specialised nature of installing a kitchen, our fitters are all highly skilled, qualified and experienced, paying great attention to detail. Every job is project managed at every stage to make sure everything runs smoothly, keeping any necessary disruption to your home life as minimal as possible.
